Kiwi kids quiz
This week Room 12 did a kiwi kids quiz. I got 82% some of the questions I just guessed. I am very happy because I tried hard and I got a good score 82%.I am very proud of my self and I think I did a good job. I like doing kiwi kids quizzes they are fun and you learn a lot from it.
My thoughts about blogging
I think blogging is a good way to reflect about your learning and what has challenged you. The thing I most like about blogging is you can customise your blog how you wish. Also I like that you can comment on others learning and what they have been learning about in there school/class.I also think quad blogging is great because schools around the world can see what you have been learning. You can comment on their blogs as well and they can comment on yours it's great. The thing that makes a good comment is asking questions, asking what there favourite part about the event was.I would not like to make any changes about blogging/quad blogging I think it is alright the way it is.

Science Experiments
On Thursday the 14th of November Team 12 did three experiments with Mrs D. The experiments were inflating a balloon, exploding a bag, and making malt vinegar and baking soda squirt out of a bottle. This happened because the gas atoms inside the little space were causing pressure and it needed to expand causing the object to pop or explode. All our experiments were successful because we tried different ways so that we could do the best one then it would work.My favourite part of doing science is watching the object explode and also if we are eating yummy food that have something to do with science. I really enjoy science it is alot of fun. My favourite experiment was the one when we made the vinegar and baking soda squirt out of the bottle. It was very smelly.

I'm stuck
I'm stuck Tia
One sunny day I decided to go for a walk with my puppy. Her name was Meg. We went for a walk past this pond. It was a big walk I was tired I could tell that Meg was too. We got there tired and puffed the both of us. I sat down beside the pond. I took my eye off Meg for not even a minute, and you guessed it she jumped in the pond. I had to get her out of there so I did. It was muddy and slimy I was completely stuck I couldn't get out.

My last term at vardon school
It is a new term waiting to be unfolded. I can't wait for a new term with lots of fun and new activities. But at the same time I am very sad because this is my last term at Vardon and I will miss Vardon and the teachers and all my friends. I just can't believe it I am going to intermediate ahh!!! One of the things that I will miss about Vardon is having all my friends with me. I will try to make new friends at intermediate though. But right now I don't want to think about next year just yet I just want to focus on having a awesome last term with all my friends. So before I leave Vardon it may sound a bit to early but, I would like to thank all my teachers that have helped me learn at Vardon school and all my supportive friends. I will miss Vardon heaps:(

My Speech
For my speech I wrote about why I'm so unique and different to everyone in the world. Our speeches had to be at least 2 minutes 30 or at the most 3 minutes 30 or just in between . We had about 3 whole weeks to get our speeches completed. We had a choice of when we wanted to share. The choices were Tuesday or Wednesday I choose Tuesday because then it would be all over and done with. When my time came I was very nervous but I knew that I would try my best and even if I didn't get through I knew that I had tried my hardest and that was all that mattered. The way that we judged the best 4 people was we had a piece of paper and we scored everyone who shared. Unfortunately I did not get into the semi finals but I didn't really care. I had alot of fun doing speeches it was also very interesting to hear what everyone had come up with. speeches rock. Here is a photo of me doing my speech!!!

Cross country
On your mark get set go!!! About a month ago the Senior syndicate did cross country. The cross country was held at Minogue park which is right behind the TeRapa pools. We had to walk to Minogue park but it wasn't that far so it was fine. When we got there Diane (One of the project energize helpers) told us were we had to run. We sat on the ground until it was our turn. When I was our turn we did some stretches with Mr Freak then that's right we started our race Mr Peachy said on your mark get see go!!! My strategy was to keep a good pace, and I kept a fast pace all the way through. I came 5th. But I was really proud of my self and I had fun and that what counts right? After my race I sat down and have a big drink. Then I cheered on all my friends on. Once we had all finished our races we stared to walk back to school I was so tired I felt sorry for my legs also my wet muddy body. When we got back to school most children got into dry warm clothes Then we just carried on to a normal school day. I had a blast at cross country and everyone come back happy and very tired. Cross country was a muddy experience that was fun!!!
Gymsport
Go Vardon!!! The senior syndicate decided we would start up something called gym-sport. We decided to do this because most people went to kapa haka. So the people who did not go to kapa haka got to do something really cool and exciting as well. The first thing we did was went to room 15 and choose what sport we wanted to be part of. The choices were cheer leading, hip hop and aerobics. I choose to do cheer leading because I have always liked cheer leading. Then every Wednesday when the kapa haka people went we would go to whatever classroom the teacher that was leading their team. Then of course we practice practice, practice. Then one week we went to the competition. There was only a few of different school's so we ended up versing each other which was a bit dumb. When we got there we got straight into it and started cheer leading first then aerobics and then last but not least hip hop. Cheer leading came 3rd and hip hop came 1st . I really enjoyed gym sport it was so much fun and a great experience.a BIG thank you to all the teachers that helped the kids out!!!

Me and my family's definition for the word culture
This is my smore for what me and my family think the word culture means. The first thing we had to do was write a draft in our home learning books of what we thought the word culture meant to us and our family. Then we were allowed to pick how we wanted to present it. Then we were aloud publish it. We had about 2-3 weeks to finish the task. lucky I finished mine in time. I really enjoyed doing this task. I also think smore is a really cool layout/website to use. You should try the website out. All you do is just Google the word smore and then go into the website and click on the icon that say's start a new flyer.I hope you like my smore. Have a go at making your own smore. Have fun;)
My three hiaku's
This is my what am I haiku's. We got given a task. Mrs Parkinson told us that we had to do three what am I haiku poems. We could present these three haiku's how ever we wanted. I chose to present it on a smore poster. I really enjoyed doing this type of poetry. It was not very hard for me. This is the format that you need to follow to create a haiku poem. First you do 5 syllables then 7 then 5. One way I sound out the syllables is I clap them out. Sometime you should try make a haiku poem. Above are my three haiku's. Can you guess what they are? Please comment below if you know the answer's thank you very much:)

My idea of a layout
For Team 12's home learning we had to come up with what we wanted the class desks to look like. We have 23 children and 24 desks so we had to include were the spare desk would go. For my layout I choose to have individual desks. But for some people they could sit next to someone for extra support, because we had a couple of double desks. We could also decide who we wanted to sit next to luckily I got to sit next to who I wanted. I am really happy about that. Anyway we had about a week to come up with this layout. The day that this layout was due we got given three counters which we were aloud to vote with. So after we were finished the student councillors had to announce the winner we had a drum roll. Who won. It was me it was really me. I was so happy. So now our class has the layout that I CREATED how awesome is that. I am very happy that I won. Thanks Team 12 for voting for me. Your such a cool classroom!!!

My kiwi kids quiz
For one of Team12's home learning task we had to do a quiz on the kiwi kids news website. I completed this task and I scored 70% which is 7 questions correct out of 10. Last time I did this quiz I scored 60% so I got 1 more correct answer I achieved this by taking Mrs Parkinson's advice and looking through the website first. A big thanks to Mrs Parkinson for that. I really enjoy doing these kiwi kids quizzes they are really fun and can teach you a little bit about what is happening in the world!!!:)

My sock monkey
This is a photo of me sewing my sock monkey. The reason why we are making sock monkeys is because every friday we make sockmonkeys with Mrs D. She set us a challenge to finish a hand sewed monkey by the end of term. But some of us finished before others. I was one of the first finished. I am really happy with my sock monkey but my arms are a bit wonkey but it still looks really cool. My faviourite part was doing the legs because it was really easy amd they turned out great. The least faviourite part was the arms because it was really hard and as I said they are a bit wonkey. I had a lot of fun making my sock monkey. A big thanks to My awesome teacher Mrs D for setting and organising this for me it was so much fun you rock!!!!

My kiwi kids Quiz
For Team 12's home learning we had to go on an website called kiwi kids news and do a quiz.
There were some really hard questions that I had to just guess on the spot.
To improve I think I need to start watching the news at home with mum and listen really well.
My score was 20 % . I think that is really disappointing but hopefully next time I can get a higher score.
Overall I think this was a challenging quiz you should go on the kiwi kids website and give it a go. I will tell you how to do it. First You go in to Google type in kiwi kids news. Then go onto the website and on the side under odd stuff it will say Quiz. Click on it once and try the pop up quiz and you can share your result with your class and family.Have fun!!!

Anzac Home learning
1. Anzac ceremonies happen at dawn because they remember the dawn landing at Gallipoli.
2. Gallipoli is in Turkey
3. The Anzac letters stand for Australian New Zealand Army corps.
4. The 25th of April is special to us as New Zealanders because a lot of people went to war to serve our country and sadly most people died. They didn't make it back.
These are my answers for the wickED challenge. This was an easy challenge for me because I already know a little bit about Anzac stuff. I had lots of fun doing this and learnt a little bit to. I hoped you have enjoyed reading this:)

My name
Hello everybody as you know my name is Tia Jessie Porima. But my name is very special, here are some facts about my name.
My Mum named me. The reason why she named me Tia is because Mum had a next door neighbour and her daughters name was Tia and she loved the name Tia. So she went ahead and named me Tia. My middle name is Jessie. Jessie was my great grandmothers name. If I had to change my name it would be Jamie but I don't want to. I hope you learned a few facts about my special name.

A new year 2013
So far this year has been pretty good. I have meet some new people. I am sooo proud to say that I Tia am a year six I can't believe it.
In class we have been doing our home learning covers, learning log covers , and lots more.
I have one goal it is to keep my writing tidy in all of my books. That way I can keep my pen license.
I can't wait for a good year to come with lots of cool friends, and of course my awesome teacher Mrs Parkinson. This year is going to be better than ever.
In class we have been doing quite a lot of things to get to know everybody. Our two truths and one lie was one of the activities. I've done mine quite tricky, can you guess it?
My 2 truths and one lie:
I have one brother
I have 5 people in my family
I cannot stand the thought of mushrooms
